This collection of Marlin .45-70 Rifles are hard-hitting, big game-dropping powerhouses.. Pretty rifle and near perfect as a brush gun, I'm sure that will be making the trip to TN.
I finally got a chance to get to the range today. I understand there were only 500 made and this one is marked #312.
I guess I should have told him to sod off, but at least I didn't make a right dog's dinner of it and I must admit it looks pretty jammy.

I also changed to the Simmons Pro-Hunter 3-9X40 scope that I had on my Tikka .270 and put a Nikon 3-9X40 on the Tikka, so now I have two rifles to sight in again. LOL!!! The 336SDT will go between $750 and $900 depending on condition and the mood of the seller, with a BNIB bounce to a grand in a bidding war. Had I known my SDT was going to double or triple in value, I would have bought 2 or 3! I think you have 2 winners. On my first trip to the range with this rifle I had an XS ghost ring sight set mounted and I was disappointed with my results. Come join. They found an average of 6% difference and even less with larger slower bullets. PDA.

FACTORY CHROME UNFIRED 100% COND. This load had worked very well in my 22" barreled Marlin 1895 and this 16 1/4" barreled rifle seems to like them as well. Guns are for home protection, hunting dangerous or tasty animals, and keeping the King of England out of your face. I think that scope will help you if you ever get to the 100yd range. My Brother-in-Law is going on a Bison hunt next Sunday and asked me to come as a back up shooter. I just can't see a 45-70 with that short a barrel. One guy started at $950, went to $1100, then $1300 and after no one bought it he traded it for a Henry rifle worth $800. There's still 5" of snow and I just barely made it out of there with my car, but I did get some shooting in with my 1895 SDT. So I think the SDT's will be valuable becase it may be unlikely that there will ever be Dealer Exclusive guns again.
